Microsoft Great Plains / Dynamics GP Support & Upgrade FAQ

As a Microsoft Business Solutions partners to support customers and prospects (including so-called orphans), we want to check (although it might seem, even retrospectively, when all to talk to Microsoft Dynamics GP / NAV / AX / CRM / SL implementation, customization, integration & sales) Microsoft Great Plains or even former Great Plains Software eEnterprise / Dynamics or Great Plains Accounting Support questions.

• Contributions to write. More likely, you have to cleanSY0500 and SY0800 tables, the batch headers and batch activities are. This is classical Great Plains issues, back in 1994 when it was introduced Great Plains Dynamics was known.

• Users unlock issue. Well, this is again classical GPS problem - you should check with the activity table is laid, sitting in DYNAMICS database or when you click on Ctree / Pervasive SQL - just have all users log off and delete Activity .*- files from SYSTEM directory

• Great Plains Accounting. Somethe orphans can not support this ERP application - Great Plains Accounting 9.2 or 9.5 for DOS or Windows. If you look back on GPS policy in the years 1999/2000 - you'll see that it was pushing down GPA upgrade to Great Plains Dynamics / eEnterprise those years. In earlier 2000, Microsoft Business Solutions (Great Plains stopped successors or support software) GPA. The only way is limited by GPA will receive support to partners, such as call Alba Spectrum Group and ask them to look at former GPStechnowledge database to check whether your problem again in the 20th Century was known.

• DEX.INI settings. If you are Great Plains Partner / VAR - you should deliberately resolve these settings Legacy GP systems, especially so for Pervasive Brieven / Ctree is. The other way to deal with these contaminated sites is to use ODBC connection.

• Service Packs. Retro service packs: GP 5.0, 5.5, 6.0, 7.0, 7.5, 8.0 and now 9.0 Microsoft Great Plains Dexterity and SQL storedTo update procedures / scripts and DYNAMICS.DIC DYNAMICS / corporate databases.

• Microsoft Dexterity source code programs. In July 2005 MBS Microsoft Dexterity source code re-program for new and existing partners. This means that you have as Great Plains Dexterity adapt client or orphan more options to choose from the supporting partner. Upgrading Great Plains Dexterity adjustment is a challenge.

• International Connection. Microsoft Great Plains or now Microsoft Dynamics GP9.0 will be supported for the United States, Canada (including French m / s Montreal / Quebec), Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, all English speaking Africa: Nigeria, etc., Southeast Asia: Philippines, Singapore, Thailand. MS Dynamics GP support is phased out for Europe: France, Belgium, Holland, Denmark, Germany, Poland

• Switch to Axapta / Microsoft Dynamics AX? These are signs of Microsoft, especially from overseas regions: Brazil, Russia, Eastern Europe, India, China, whereMicrosoft is investing in BS Axapta Localization and promotion - plus we see the trend - large MBS VARs are registration and certification for Microsoft Dynamics AX - MBS Dynamics AX Rising Star is - it's ERP / MRP package for the upper middle market.

• Antiquities - Great Plains Report Writer - when you adjust long or short SOP invoice form - this is the place where you depend on legacy Microsoft Dexterity customization. The same should be said about Crystal Reports, MicrosoftCrystal Phasing out with Microsoft Dynamics CRM and GP - replacing it with MS SQL Server RS

• Integration with Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0. Microsoft Dynamics GP or Microsoft Great Plains is integrated with MS CRM fo0r version 7.5 and 8.0. These integrations work at the level of Microsoft BizTalk Server. Rewritten for MBS Dynamics GP 9.0 Integration with eConnect / XML web services
